Book Three Unit Sixteen

Mary and her husband lived in the tiny village of Perachora in the southern Greece.
The small white lamb, which her husband Dimitri had gave her ,was one of Mary's prize possessions. She kept it tied to a tree in a field during the day and went to fetch it every evening. One evening, Mary found that the lamb had been stolen. As the village was so small, her husband Dimitri thought that it must have been stolen by one of the villagers. After having leart that his neighbour Aleko had suddenly acquired a new lamb, Dimitri
immediately went to Aleko's house and angrily accused him of stealing the lamb. Dimitri apologized to Aleko after Aleko had showed that his lamb was black. At last It was by
the rain that the lamb which had been dyed black had been washed clean.
