I think ti depends on the context. People make different promises under different situations. If you are talking about a promise between couples.It would be more of a daily trivia like I will do all the chores tomorrow,I will stop playing video games, I will quit smoking, something like that. but if you talking about a promise made in workplace, it could be someone promising their boss to finish a certain task on time such as completing a financial report etc.Or it could be a casual promise made between friends such as i will get the bill next time. Something like that.

I think the reasons why people make such promises are probably because they just wanna put an end to a fight, or maybe they just want to please other persons to make them happy.Or they just need to have a push or motivation in order to complete a certain task.But I think it is east for them to make promises but it is rather difficult to keep them. If you did not honor it in the end, it could be a disaster.

Wow ,that was really a tough one. Let me see . to be honest with you. I could not think of any good ones at the moment. Probably because I have never run a business before and I never think about it that I would run a company and nether of anyone in my family.
But if I have to name one, I guess confidence must be really important. coz at least you need to have faith in whatever the business you are running right?
