        新概念英语第二册 Lesson 51: Reward for virtue

        My friend, Hugh, has always been fat, but things got so bad recently that he decided to go on a diet. He began his diet a week ago. First of all, he wrote out a long list of all the foods which were forbidden. The list included most of the things Hugh loves: butter, potatoes, rice, beer, milk, chocolate, and sweets. Yesterday I paid him a visit. I rang the bell and was not surprised to see that Hugh was still as fat as ever. He led me into his room and hurriedly hid a large parcel under his desk. It was obvious that he was very embarrassed. When I asked him what he was doing, he smiled guiltily and then put the parcel on the desk. He explained that his diet was so strict that he had to reward himself occasionally. Then he showed me the contents of the parcel. It contained five large bars fo chocolate and three bags of sweets!

    Thoughts: 每日精进就是确认自己的朗读首先自己挑不出问题了(朗读+复述)。

    文中的hugh就是犯了s说的自我感动和容易破坏自己指定的规则还美其名曰灵活。不要因为坚持一件事情几天就开始想着奖励自己什么或者自我感动什么,只有长期坚持下来才值得,而且真的长期坚持下来了后,也不会觉得有什么感动了,因为一是已经成为习惯,二是自己感动的阀值已经提升,不会再因为这些事情轻易动情。而且长期坚持之后必然很多变量发生改变,自己的看法必然会不同,就很难说那个时候会怎么觉得了。

    今天听了群里的小伙伴的发音,让我意识到一件事情,就是每天的朗读已经不能满足自己的需求,或者说每天的朗读对自我的成长促进效果在减弱了,应该开始下一个曲线的增长了,就是复述。前几遍跟读的时候帮助熟悉文章,当自己能跟上节奏并完成朗读后,对文章会有大致印象了。这个时候最好趁热打铁开始复述部分,一般听三遍吧,准备好纸笔,三遍听下来,根据自己记下来的框架复述所听内容,就像托福考试一样,这个过程是个很好的梳理过程,梳理自己对文章的理解,强化自己跟读的发音,因为有时候跟读下来只是机械式重复复读,大脑没有太多思考。而复述的时候大脑是兴奋地活跃状态,会主动去思考,很有助于加深对文章的理解,对知识点的学习,对口语的学习。
