In my opinion, the most important thing about being rich is helping other people. As the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility. We all want to help others in daily life but most of us can do little help. If rich people try to help people, they can help more than others.
For example, a rich person pays 1% of his property. At the same time, an average person or a poor person pays 1% of his property. The donation from the rich one may build a school for a village, while that of the average or the poor may just buy a book for one student.
It doesn't mean that a school is more useful than a book. Both of those are useful to people in need. It cannot deny that the school can benefit to more people.
People who get help from the rich persons may gets wealthy themselves, so that there will be more wealthy people in a country. The society can be harmonious.
Some think most wealthy people are evil because they accumulate money by an improper way. They think the rich squeeze labor from the poor. People who think like that will hate the rich, which may disturb the society.
The more you pay, the more you reap. The wealthy pay for the society, and the whole society will pay back to them. They will get respect from others which can bring them more wealth. Many commercial giants will perform charitable activities which can bring them more benefits.
It is not said that the rich have to donate their wealth. I think that wealth dose come with more responsibilities but not compulsorily. They donate all by their will. Their donation also cannot be an almsgiving. Sustainable development should be taken seriously. A person cannot become powerful by charity and beggering.
