In this lesson you learned what an attribute table is, why it's so important, and how those attributes relate to features.You also learned how to modify the attribute table and add your own attributes, and then how to change and populate those values in one of the ways ArcGIS makes available to you.

attribute table就是地图信息的一种集合，借助表格的方式呈现。这节课首先学了通过attribute table来筛选数据，之后又学了可以在表中加入自己的数据并且表现在map中。

In this lecture I showed you how to create selections using the select by attributes tool, but with exact parameters and also by using partial matches.I also showed you how to add new fields and calculate geometry into them.

借助attribute筛选以及添加数据，和上一节课差不多。

In this lecture I showed you how to use the select by location toolin order to find relationships between features in your map document.This is a really, basic querying function of GIS andit allows you to start doing analysis, really basic analysis with our GIS.

借助location筛选，老师很强调这个方法。由于这种方法的具体方式有很多，所以其所获得的结果有很多种，适用于多种场合。
