语法基础2第一节——什么是并列句

先来看个例子：

英文：

Many people are willing to fight for their dreams, others die in their sleep. 对吗？

逗号不能连接两个句子，如何变正确？

方法有三：

1、加入并列连词连接两个分句，即：

Many people are willing to fight for their dreams, but others die in their sleep.

2、独立主格的形式也可以，两句话合成一句话，只留一个动词存在，即：

Many people being willing to fight for their dreams, others die in their sleep.

3、将其中的一个不重要的句子变成从句，重要的句子留为主句，即：

Although many people are willing to fight for their dreams, others die in their sleep.

小结：

一个简单句写完点句号，但英语人总想把两个简单句写成一句话（复杂的长难句），方法有三：加连词、独立主格形式、主从句。

什么是并列句？

答：并列句就是连词连接两个句子（包括从句）

① He always works hard at everything, so my mother asks me to learn from him.（因果关系 so 连接）

【翻译】他做任何事情都很努力，因此我妈妈总让我像他学习。

② My boyfriend promises me that he really loves me and that he will spend all his life protecting me.（and 连接两个 that 从句）

【翻译】我男朋友向我保证他真的爱我，他会用他的一生来保护我。
