The automobile industry is facing a growing challenge and pressure in the environment of declining productivity, risingcosts, intensifying competition in the industry, globalization, and marketchanges and fluctuations in science and technology and regulations. However, the latest big data and data analysis have brought unprecedented possibilitiesto the automotive industry - data analysis is a powerful tool. To properly usedata analysis, we need to have an omni-directional comprehensive ability andinteract with various functional departments and technical teams in theenterprise.
With the improvement of data analysisability, predictive analysis is evolving into a powerful tool, which cangreatly improve prediction efficiency, operation and performance. But thechallenge is whether the practitioners in the automotive industry can handle thesemassive knowledge and experience data. Data analysis can integrate theseinformation -- whether it is "machine readable" data set, orunstructured data such as video, recording or text. As long as it is properlyhandled, the effect will be surprising.

Word cloud chart: Zhu Hongren's speech on high quality development of automobile industry transformationA company surveyed executives in the globalautomotive industry, 88 of whom are from China and consumers' views on themain trends and opportunities in the automotive industry. It is found thatChina's automobile industry executives believe that the main trend of marketdevelopment is the creation of value by AI, digitization and data.
The survey found that although half of theglobal respondents believed that pure electric vehicles (electric cars) werethe first development trend in 2025, 64% of Chinese respondents pointed outthat intelligent network and digitalization were a strong and subversive factorin the automotive industry. Electric vehicles and the creation of value fromdata are also ranked among China's first three main trends.
Industry executives also expressedconfidence in China's car sales, and most (76%) executives expect China toaccount for 40% of the global car sales by 2030 (now 29%). Executives in theglobal automotive industry believe that China is the primary market for theirnew cars or services, followed by the United States and Germany. China is alsoone of the first three pilot areas to launch their new data driven businessmodel. The survey also found that 56% of global executives viewed China as ahigh growth market for traditional mass production and quality manufacturers.
And I present the result of the survey with the form of picture as following.
As a student of school of Journalism and communication, I have also considered the impact of data visualization on media communication:
Real time integration of interactive datavisualization and audience participation
The progress of technology provides variouspossibilities for interactive visual design. The interactive experience of theaudience provides more creative and more diversified ways of thinking for theaudience. Through real-time interaction, the audience can participate in theproduction of data visualization. As the audience of the news productivity, itsparticipation is respected, and the audience's recognition and memory of thenews topic have also been improved. This is the reason why interactive datavisualization can be carried out in various media.
Telling good stories: the foothold of interactive datavisualization
In such a media environment full of data, people tend to be puzzled by the diversity and complexity of the variety ofdata on news events with a certain time span and geographical span. Excellentdata news visualization does not necessarily have to show dazzling interactivetechnology. The key is how to guide readers to read news stories or complexdata through concise and dynamic effects. While technology gives the audience achance to participate in the selection of content and content production, theaudience realizes the change from the bystander to the viewer, the user, andeven the controller. But no matter what technology is adopted, the visualization is still good news story.
For example, the New York Times's visual report on theOctober 1, 2017 shooting in Las Vegas can be said to be a perfectimplementation of the above requirements. In this data visualization, the timesweighed the audience's actual needs in understanding unexpected news events, gave up the "dazzling" cool technology, and finally provided a storywith a combination of conclusions and explanations. Archie Tse, the head of thedata news visualization team, says they think "how to deliver informationand better narrative is the ultimate goal of visualization."
