Arts and government budget

Some people think that the government is wasting money on the arts and that this money could be better spent elsewhere?

Some people believe that arts are overemphasized, where the government has spent too much money on them. In this essay, I will discuss whether I agree with this idea. First, I will discuss the significance of health care rather than arts, thereby more budget should be put on. Second, I will explore the importance of funding education in science and technology.

Although arts do have their certain position in modern society, such as movie, TV shows, freedom to express with artistic shows, yet they do not need to play a vital role, which means people in these fields are gifted, focus on their career life and try to find better ways to earn money. In other words, more and more people find funding in this aspect, which is not very useful, should be diminished, and the money should be spent on more urgent fields. Take, for example, serious diseases, covid-19, the global pandemic is threatening all humankind. Physical problems and mortal diseases make our society to be stagnated, many countries stopped economic development due to a large amount of infection. For these reasons, government financial support for arts should be considered less important.

On the other hand, the rise of Artificial Intelligence, which is built on top of the rapid growth of computer science and internet advancement, has been changing people's everyday lives. For instance, the age of cash will soon be ended along with the escalation of internet and machine learning algorithm, more and more people are now free from labor works, those of which involves repetition, a simple process will be or already being replaced, soon or later. For these reasons, government funds in this aspect, especially for educational purpose, is very much worth and contains profound meaning for future development.

To conclude the aforementioned, the reality has been proving the investment in public health and technology must be put on a higher standard of level, where the arts funding should be reduced. The government must take responsibility in stabilizing the health system, as well as to strengthen the education purpose, in order to make a better future.
