①As is vividlydepictedin the picture, anenormousnumber of people are connected by a huge spider web.②Ironically, they are imprisoned into their own space and choose to stay in touch with one another by the Internet, but not through face-to-face communication.

①Apparently, the vivid drawing carries a deep meaning, reflecting acommon phenomenonwhich most of us havepaid little attention to.②It is atruth universally acknowledged that Internet benefits us in many ways: chatting or playing games on line offers us a great way of relaxing fromenergy-consumingwork, and shopping on line provides us with convenience and time-saving alternatives.③However, this is only one side of the coin.④The other side is hidden below the surface: numerous people havebeen addicted to the Internet andindulgedin fictitious world, thus feeling reluctant to approach others and even retiring themselves from real life interpersonal communication.⑤According to a recent survey published on China Daily, the past three years have experienced a sharp rise in the percentage of people who prefer to share their happiness and sorrows with on-line strangers instead of friends or relatives.⑥Conspicuously, the Internet has enlarged the distance between people in reality.

①To briefly conclude, it is high time that we attached great importance to face-to-face communication between people.②At the sametime, it is a necessity for us to use the Internet reasonably and wisely without overindulgenceso as to obtain knowledge andkeep abreast withthe development of our times.③Only by taking these measures can we harvest a healthy interpersonal relationship and build aharmonioussociety.
