What's CSR? It's short for corporate social responsibility, which refers to companies taking responsibility for the impact their actions have upon their workforce, community and the world. To me, it's an important part for any enterprise.
It's widely believed that it's companies' responsibilities to conform to social expectations.I totally agree with them. As an integral part of the society, corporations need to reply positively to the wish of the society and entail moral responsibilities, which means, the companies shouldn't damage the environment and should invest in sustainable operations and fair employee benefits. Similarly, as members of the local community, the corporations should support community development by sponsoring local projects and activities.
Some may criticize that CSR is a publicity stunt, a superficial project, aiming only to manipulate public perception. While it may be true that's a good method of making good business sense for companies and maintaining their public images, we mustn't deny the fact that this is a win-win situation most of the time. By ensuring good image and fair working condition, the companies usually enjoys high productivity and low turnover. Their employees and customers will be more loyalty. Sponsoring for the community's education will also help cultivate the companies' future workforce. And on a global scale, operating sustainably helps ensure that all businesses have adequate resources to operate in the future.
In conclusion, I think CSR should be an indispensable composition of businesses. Companies make more profit and enjoy sustainable development, in the same time communities around the world benefit.
