See, the magic world
Good evening, everyone.
How many of you sitting here read Harry Potter books or watched Harry Potter movies when you were in primary or middle school? Could you please raise your hands?
I bring something which could awake your childhood memory today. See.
Well, these are not gifts for you, because they are not mine. They actually belong to a friend of mine. For her, the magic world is a primary school memory. For me, the memory is not that distant as I just finish the complete movie series this summer. The magic is now.
As a grown-up of my age, the magic world is still fancy. If I could have a flying bloom, the traffic jam and crowded subway is no longer a worry. Or even better, with the teleportation, I could go to any place without flying tickets. Who cares about the Double 11 sales any more?
Fantastic Beasts series is considered as a prequel to Harry Potter, telling the stories before the generation of Harry’s parents. In Harry Potter, we can see a lot of animals which only exists in the mythology books, like unicorn, dragon, and phoenix. One fun fact about unicorn.In western mythology, the farting of unicorn is rainbow. So next time you see a rainbow, trying picturing a horse-shape animal with a corn on its head. In Fantastic Beasts, we see a lot of animal which only exists in JK Rowling’s imagination before she shares with the world. Each animal is given a specialty.The small black one who enjoys nothing but silver and gold, the tender green one who can open the most sophisticated locks. There is a new giant Chinese animal in the latest sequel, it is call Zou Wu. It looks like a combination of tiger and kylin and its talent is the ability to across the city from one side to another via just one step. There are so many interesting settings in the magic world. Many audiences spent a whole day digging all the fun facts behind the movie with enjoyment. What a magic world!
On the other hand, as a grown-up of my age,the world is still magic. There are more and more magic moments which keeps me in the shock faces and pale language ‘how could this be possible?!’ or ‘this could work?!’. For example, who can imagine that one day, a dog could beat the best Chess player in the world. And the dog’s name is Alpha, the artificial intelligent system, and it’s getting smarter and smarter. Another one, there is a bike with a QR code on it. Via a scanning, it’s your bike. You can ride it to anywhere. One more example, I bought a very nice purse about two years ago. It’s a fancy one,master design and high price. Guess what, I don’t need a purse now. Because I have my mobile phone. And also now in this magic world, everyone can be a published writer, at least on the Internet. For example, I opened a Jianshu account and I started to put my speech text there. Our monitor Sharon recently opened a WeChat public account, sharing her findings and lessons learnt.
Sometimes, both magic worlds can be an interesting combination, or at least an interesting enjoyment for your life. I adopted a small stray cat recently. It is an orange Chinese garden cat, about 5 months age. In the magic world, I hope my kitten could grow into a Zou Wu someday and carries me for city tours, for example brings me back home immediately after this meeting. In the real world, the doctor tells me an interesting saying: nine of the ten orange garden cats are fat, the tenth is even bigger than elephants. Well, accordingly, I adapt my wish, hopefully my kitten would not change from an orange cat into an orange pig.

一点点感想
这是Pathways level 1的第二部分，这个部分是先做一篇演讲，然后根据IE点评的意见，消化吸收，再做一遍，可以是同一个话题也可以更换。我的IE是HROP的Grace童鞋。她的点评很专业。她肯定了话题的新颖有趣，和两个神奇世界相连的有趣对比。然后，她给了我三点建议，我觉得很好，这里记录下。
1. 加一页slide，展示这些神奇动物。
因为我最开始立意是更偏鼓励大家发挥想象力的这个点，所以选择不做ppt，让大家想象。不过后来改了立意，定稿晚了，ppt没来得及。
2. make closer connection between the magic world and magic real world.
这个确实，一上台就紧张，有一些设定好的对比和关联忘了。比如，我本来想接着电子钱包讲现实世界的全球联网，足不出门物流到家，双十一不止国内买买买，全球剁手。
3. make a powerful conclusion

最后，加一点个人反思。
每次听演讲比赛，觉得最神奇的就是后面的选手对于之前选手某些观点的callback。一直很羡慕和想要拥有这样的临场发挥能力或者说那种在台上还能稳定思考的能力。这周会议的word of day是breakthrough。语法官公布的时候，我就在想，我可以加一句现实的神奇世界是thanks to the scientific breakthroughs。然并卵，上台还是忘了。哎，同志继续努力。
