农历七月初七是七夕节，始于汉朝，民间故事相传牛郎织女每年农历7月7日在鹊桥相会，又因为织女有一双巧手织锦，民间的少女们希望能到织女的灵气，所以在七夕节那天“乞巧”。
2006年5月20日，七夕节被国务院列入第一批国家非物质文化遗产名录，有“中国情人节”之说 。
