2. have words with someone

直译过来是有话对某人说，但是这实际意思是，怒气冲冲地与某人争论、争吵或说话。另外，我们可以用 have words with someone (over sb or sth) 表示：（为了某人或某事）与某人争吵的意思。

例句：

I'll have to have words with him if his behavior doesn't improve.

如果他的行为不改进，我就得和他谈谈。

I had words with John over Mary and her friends.

我为了玛丽和她的朋友们跟约翰争论。

3. in a word

字面上的意思是，在一个字里，但实际表达是不是这个意思呢？其实并不是的，in a word 所表达的意思是“总而言之、简而言之”。
