Dear Friend,
hope you are fine and you can enjoy with your family and your friends the sunny, pleasant days the spring time.
Interesting for me to learn something more about your ancestors in China. As far as I know, before year 1900 or so, Chinese women haven't had a proper family name, only a first and a middle name and they just had used for official registration purpose the family name of their husband. I think, this could make it a little difficult to trace back the details of the female lines of a Chinese ancestry. However for the male lines it easily should be possible to trace back over many generations.
Photo attached show the view from the window of my home office in Rosenheim. Seems to be nothing special about this photo. It just shows two cars parking in the street. But, the red car a a German registration plate with the letters RO..., which refers to city of Rosenheim. The grey car behind, however has a very different registration plate. One can see clearly: That car is from Ukraine. I have seen that car first time one week ago, it never had been here before. Now the car parks there all the time. Obvious, a family, which escaped from the war in their country fortunately had found in my next neighborhood some nice people, giving them shelter, a safe place to live for a while.
On 6. April, some two and a half weeks ago, I returned from my great holiday in Gran Canaria, Spain. Back to Rosenheim, everything seems to be normal again as during my holiday the German Government relaxed many of the pandemic restrictions. I started to feel a bit strange last Tuesday, 19. April. Two days later, on Thursday, I'm positive in the corona PCR test. One day later on Friday, also my wife had been tested positive. But, don't worry, the decease symptoms are not severe, just a little cough, a bit temperate Emoji quite tired, yet sleepless in the night for three 3 days. Anyway, we both have to stay at home for isolation until 31. April.

Today is run-off in France. The French people decide, who will be the president of their Government for the next 5 years. The favorite, the existing president Mr. Macron is liberal and EU friendly, but the other candidate, Mrs. LePen is known for her unprogressive, anti-EU ideas and not being much interested in cooperation with Germany or other European nations. Therefore, the outcome of today's election is seen really important not only for France but for all Europe. I think, the final result will be reported in 3 hours time, at 22:00. This evening somehow is thrilling.Emoji
