Imagination

Do you have imagination? I think that maybe most of adults will give the answer “no”.

That’s common for us. Because we always be told standard answer by teachers. It is the only right answer and not to be questioned while other answers are not allowed at all.

Therefore, at last we can only tell others the standard answers we were told but no imagination.

When we were young, we were told that the sky was blue, the grass was green and apple is red and round, and everything should be drawn in certain color and shape.

We had standard answers in our exams. If we wrote the answers different from the standard one we would get a very low score or even zero.

In this way, we’re trained to memorize and recite well, but we have no imagination.

Maybe the only time we have imagination is in childhood. Children are so innocent and lovely, they have rich imagination.

As parents, the most important things we should do for children’s imagination is to protect it and don’t let others destroy it. We can learn the way to improve children’s imagination.

For example, we can play pretend game and encourage them to express their inner thoughts and affirm them in time. Don’t deny their thoughts easily that seems to ridiculous.
