A 7-year-old boy

Picked off the first morning glory from the fence

He drew a portrait

With the juice as paint

And sent it to a girl

Who was in his heart

The portrait was about her

With long hair that painted in light purple color

She was so delighted

And wrote some words on it

“my most precious present”

Many years has gone

The girl is packing in her room

There is a piece of paper

With only some words on

She thinks hard

But never figure it out

Why this blank paper

Can be her “most precious present”?

摘下早晨第一朵盛开的牵牛花

并用它的汁液

画了幅画

他把它送给篱笆另一边的女孩

因为那画中正是她

长长的、淡紫色的头发

她的心也开了花

并写下——

“我最珍贵的礼物”

多年后

女孩收拾着家

发现一张纸上

稚拙的字迹

她想了许久

却始终不能明白

为什么一张空白的纸

会是她“最珍贵的礼物”？
