「Composed upon Westminster Bridge, September 3, 1802」
_ a Petrarchan sonnet (18th century)Romantic
poet William Wordsworth
Earth hasnot anything to show more fair:
Dull wouldhe be of soul who could pass by
A sight sotouching in its majesty:
This Citynow doth, like a garment, wear
The beautyof the morning; silent, bare,
Ships,towers, domes, theatres and temples lie
Open untothe fields, and to the sky;
All brightand glittering in the smokeless air.
Never didsun more beautifully steep
In hisfirst splendor, valley, rock, or hill;
Ne'er sawI, never felt, a calm so deep!
The riverglideth at his own sweet will:
Dear God!The very houses seem asleep;
And all that mighty heart is lyingstill!

也不比这片晨光更为奇丽;
河上徐流,由着自己的心意;
