Once there was a little bunny who wanted to run away.

So he said to his mother, “I am running away.”

“If you run away,” said his mother, “I will run after you. For you are my little bunny.”

Look, a little bunny is running on a grassland.

He is running away from his mommy.

Do you want to runaway from your mommy?

I guess your answer must be no.

Who cried in the morning for mommy's leaving for work?

“If you run after me,”said the little bunny,

“I will become a fish in a trout stream and I will swim away from you.”

    It is a magic world.

The little bunny becomes a fish,  and he believes that his mother cannot catch him now.

    Is that true?

    Let's move on.

“If you become a fish in a trout stream,” said his mother,

“I will become a fisherman and I will fish for you.”

Here we can see fisherman's equipments.

He will wear boots to keep his feet dry.

Fisherman usually uses a landing net to catch fish, and then put fish into a basket.

Look, mommy bunny is fishing her baby with a carrot.

    But why carrot?

Yes, because bunnies like to eat carrots.

“If you become a fisherman,” said the little bunny,

“I will become a rock on the mountain, high above you.”

The little bunny is making his runaway plan again.

This time, he hides in the mountains.

    Will mother bunny find him?

Let's look at the right page.

“If you become a rock on the mountain high above me,” said his mother,

“I will be a mountain climber, and I will climb to where you are.”

Bringing a alpenstock and a sunbonnet with her, mother bunny is going to climb the mountain.

And she finds her baby at the top of the mountain.

What a naughty boy he is.

“If you become a mountain climber,” said the little bunny,

“I will become a crocus in a hidden garden.”

After that, little bunny decides to hide in the garden.

What will his mother do this time?

“If you become a crocus in a hidden garden,” said his mother,

“I will be a gardener. And I will find you.”

Gardener is the man who takes care of gardens.

And does mother bunny find her baby?

Look, the little bunny now plays find and seek with his mommy.

Can you help mother bunny to find her naughty boy?

Yes, he is sitting on the pink flower.

“If you are a gardener and find me,” said the little bunny,

“I will become a bird and fly away from you.”

Now the bunny runs away again.

Where does he go this time?

“If you become a bird and fly away from me,” said his mother,

“I will be a tree that you come home to.”

Bunny always lives in a hollow tree, doesn't it?

    (此处cue的是《I am a Bunny》里的兔子,小鹿之前讲过这本书,有需要的读者可以在公众号留言I am a Bunny,小鹿会提供过往文章链接。)

Wow, mother bunny becomes a big bunny tree.

And the bunny bird is flying towards her.

“If you become a tree,”said the little bunny,

“I will become a little sailboat, and I will sail away from you.”

This time, the little bunny choose to become a sailboat.

How will mother bunny get him back?

“If you become a sailboat and sail away from me,” said his mother,

“I will become the wind and blow you where I want you to go.”

So the mother bunny blow little bunny home this time.

“If you become the wind and blow me,” said the little bunny,

“I will join a circus and fly away on a flying trapeze.”

    What does flying trapeze do?

    Flying trapeze

Let's look at the right page.

“If you go flying on a flying trapeze,” said his mother,

“I will be a tightrope walker, and I will walk across the air to you.”

Flying trapeze is a stick hanging from two pieces of rope high above the ground.

Brave performers in a  circus can swing with it.

    It is really dangerous.

Look, mother bunny and her baby are performing.

It seems that mother bunny catches her boy again.

“If you become atightrope walker and walk across the air,” said the bunny,

“I will become a little boy and run into a house.”

This time, the little choose to hide at home.

    Doesn't he want to runaway?

“If you become a little boy and run into a house,” said the mother bunny,

“I will become your mother and catch you in my arms and hug you.”

Maybe he is tired of running away and just want a hug.

Now he stays with his mommy.

“Shucks, ” said the bunny, “I might just as well stay where I am and be your little bunny.”

The bunny comes back to the grassland now.

    And so he did.

“Have a carrot,” said the mother bunny.

His mommy is waiting for him at home.

It's dark outside, and it's time to go back home now.

Look, they are having carrot dinner.

    Good night bunnies.
