In the picture, a teacher is questioning his students:"How come all of you come to the front of the classroom?" His students, all bespectacled and with books piled up on their desks, answer with one voice:"We can't see the blackboard clearly in the back!" This picture is telling us how schooling has done harm to students. Specifically, long hours of study and heavy workload have impaired their eyesight and probably caused other physical problems.
There is no doubt that China's primary and junior schooling is very effective. A student in Grade 8 Can solve some math problems that are only learned in universities in the West. Sadly, this achievement comes with a price:the physical well-being of students is damaged. With years of commitment to their studies, many students are very short-sighted. Occupied by mountains of homework, some students are even unable to finish a 1000-meter race, because of the lack of physical exercise.
To address this problem,I think it is necessary for schools to reduce students' study load,by cutting their homework and tests. We should let them enjoy some valuable free time and experience more things outside classroom. This will ultimately be beneficial to their eyesight and horizons.
