第六单元以家庭生活为主题，学习现在进行时的句型与用法。现在进行时是本单元的重点，也是难点。因为学生第一次接触句子时态，所以常规教学进行的较慢，以便学生熟练掌握并运用。
教授本单元时，先学习地点类的单词及短语。如: bathroom. bedroom. living room. kitchen(特别注意bedroom的音)。相关短语: in the bathroom/ bedroom/ living room / kitchen. 然后通过课文图片，引入四个动词短语: do my homework. make a model plane. wash my hair. cook dinner. 最后学习现在进行时。在学习进行时时，教师引导学生发现其规律并总结，在理解的基础上学习运用现在进行时。
何为现在进行时? 从意义上说表示现在正在进行的动作。从结构上体现在 be+V-ing. 而be包含am. is. are. 这里又有了新问题，be动词如何使用, 这是旧知识，在此要给学生重新复习一下。紧接着又涉及到V-ing, 将动词短语里的动词如何变为-ing 形式，也要进行复习学习。特殊的动词make-making要加以强调。在新旧知识融合的过程中，学完第一篇课文。同时利用图片，结合短语，现在进行时，背诵课文，更简单轻松。
英语学习的最终目的是在日常生活中能用英语进行表达。因此学完本单元后，让学生运用所学的词汇，句子时态，结合自己的实际生活进行写绘，以达到最终目的。孩子们的写绘已经完成，我从中抽取了几名创造力丰富的孩子的作品，一起欣赏一下吧。

After an hour, Mother comes home.She can't find top, she asks, Top answers. Mother want to buy some flowers. Now, she is going to the flower shop. But Top finishes her homework . She can't find her mother. She is afraid.
