Around the World in Eighty Days
It took me 36 minutes to read through this adapted version from Shuchong. Here is one interesting phrase:
Later he gets on the ship for Bombay with Fogg and Passepartout
It reminds me the importance of using prepositions correctly and properly.
The story happens in 1872, 136 years ago when railways were building between cities, horses and carriages were common tools to move from one place to another one. There is Mr Fogg, servant Passepartout, Mrs Aouda, detective Mr Fix and Mr Stuart. Mr Fogg bet with Mr Stuart that he can travel around the world in eighty days. If he wins, he will get 20,000 pounds. He travelled through France, Italy, Suez in Egypt, Bombay in India, Kholby, Allahabad, Pillaji, Calcutta, Hong Kong, Yokohama,Shanghai, San Francisco, Omaha, New York, Liverpool, London. Mr Fogg wins the competition and marries Mrs Aouda at last.
It is much easier to read through a short story but takes time to rewrite one story like this. As long as you read some known stories, you will learn something from it. Keep reading.
