在遥远的海边

住着一个孤单的小男孩

他一个人总是闷闷不乐  

直到有一天海里远远漂来

一个玻璃瓶

男孩忙把瓶子打捞起来

在这个玻璃瓶里

Once upon a time, a Boy met a Fish.

他遇见了一条鱼

And they became the best of friends.

从此他们成为了最好的朋友

男孩和鱼走到哪里都形影不离

The fish meant the world to him.

对小男孩来说 鱼就是他的全世界

But little did he know,

可是男孩从未想过的是

that the world can one day stop spinning.

有一天他的这个小小世界会停止转动

玻璃瓶里的鱼死了

男孩失去了朋友

他一个人哭了很久

Alone he sat upon the jetty,

他独自坐在码头的夕阳里

remembering the days they shared; the memories.

想起他们之间的美好回忆

过了很久他突然想起

'Til he recalled the glass bottle! The one that first brought the fish.

之前那个装着鱼的玻璃瓶

Maybe more glass bottles can bring...more friends?

也许越多的瓶子会带来…更多的朋友？

男孩准备了许多许多的玻璃瓶

开始将它们一个个抛进海里

海里的鱼儿

好奇地游进那些玻璃瓶里

And indeed.

没想到

One after another, new friends came around.

男孩真的收获了很多的朋友

男孩划着小船

将它们一个个打捞上来

带回家里

他现在已经有了很多朋友

But the Boy wanted more.

但男孩还想要更多

他开始准备更多更多的玻璃瓶

将它们一古脑儿地全撒进海里

一只一只

越来越多的鱼儿

游进了男孩的玻璃瓶里

海洋里被玻璃瓶占得满满的

In fact, he wanted them ALL.

男孩想要将它们全部占为己有

他望着玻璃瓶里的鱼儿

感觉无比的快乐

只是

He no longer cared if they stayed or left,

他不再像从前那样

对鱼儿朋友倍感珍惜

它们死了

男孩也不再难过

for he believed there will always be more fishes in the sea.

因为他知道

反正海里还有很多

越来越多的玻璃瓶撒向大海

But soon,

没过多久

the Boy found himself with a sea full of glass bottles,

男孩便身处在全是玻璃瓶的海洋里了

而这时候

他在玻璃瓶的海洋里

yet empty of fishes.

再也看不到一条鱼了

He wondered

男孩想着

where have all his friends gone to.

海里的那些鱼都去哪儿了呢

Will he be left alone?

他是不是一个人被抛弃了

He continued searching

他依旧不停地在海上寻找着他的朋友

'til he saw

直到他远远看见

a bright sparkle in the horizon

海岸线上闪耀着一束光

男孩奋力朝那束光划去

划到近处他才看清

原来那束光是一座

漂在海上的玻璃房子

It was not a fish, but a little Girl seated in a giant glass house!

而房子里住着

一个可爱的女孩

男孩特别开心

He was delighted to meet his new friend.

因为他遇到了新朋友

They chatted on everything under the sun,

他和女孩聊了很久

很快

他们就成了无话不谈的好朋友

男孩一直都觉得女孩特别亲切

and the Boy felt like they have konwn each other since forever.

感觉他们好像认识了很久似的

到了晚上

And when it was finally time for the boy to go,

男孩该回家了

he could not hear to leave the Girl behind.

但他不舍得把女孩一个人留下

But the Girl was encased and could not be freed.

可被关在玻璃房里的女孩

哪儿都去不了

男孩想尽办法要救女孩出来

The Boy knew he had to break the glass fortress.

他拿起船上的瓶子砸向这座玻璃房

一次又一次试图将它打碎

But the glass walls continued to keep them apart.

可是这座玻璃房好像坚不可摧

死死地阻挡着他和女孩

最后

The Boy was determined to break through the glass,

男孩决定用自己的身体

even if it took all his strength.

奋力地撞向它

男孩撞到玻璃上的那一刻

看似坚不可摧的玻璃房

And he finally did!

终于碎裂了

而在男孩和女孩

终于可以相见的那一瞬间

……

男孩从梦中醒来

So...was it all a dream?

刚才发生的一切只是个梦吗

男孩默默自问

是梦的话又为什么那么真实

这时男孩突然发现

床边的无数个玻璃瓶里

其中一只碎裂了

男孩蹲在地上

看着那个碎掉的玻璃瓶

他捧起地上的鱼儿

Looking at the fish in his hands,

痴痴地望着

良久

the Boy finally realised this was the friend he was trying so hard to free.

他恍然大悟

原来这就是自己在梦里

Be like the shore who adored the waves.

拼尽全力去解救它

But never once holding her in his embrace.

要还它自由的那个女孩

男孩捧着它来到海边

将鱼儿重新归还到海里

接着

他开始把家里

一只只装在玻璃瓶里的鱼儿

全部放回大海

男孩终于明白

For love is protection

爱是保护

not possession

而非占有

我们都知道

夜空中的繁星很美

And only a jealous lover will pluck the stars from the skies above.

总想要是能把它摘下来

放在自己手中该多好

Konwing not that the skies are where the stars belonged.

却不明白

那些星星

本来就属于夜空啊

它们属于夜空

And where their brilliance shone.

和它们星辉照耀的每一个地方
