2019-04-08, Food for Thought
Since we are all somewhat interested in learning English here, I would like to point out that the "food for thought" is a phrase means "something to consider".
But today I would like to consider some food literally. i.e., a recipe I learned over the weekend, "The Best Clam Sauce Linguini". I found this from the "allrecipes.com" website.
Alright, what's your motive to make this? You may ask. Because my wife wasn't home, and I'm tired of ordering food from outside. also, she's coming back on Sunday. I wanted to make something nice for her and in the meantime, impress her a little bit with my cooking.
I made a modification from the recipe. I thought that it would be boring to have four cans of white clams was too much. So I bought some fresh Canadian mussels from the supermarket and replaced two cans of white clams with a half pound of fresh mussels.
I cooked minced onions and garlic with olive oil and butter. I just loved the smell of the butter with the fresh onion when they became transparent under the heat. And then I poured the clams and the mussels into the large skillet, continued to cook until the juice became dense with flavors.
I boiled the organic, non-GMO, and vegan pasta that was imported from Ital (you would look for those specs when you shop nowadays). And then mixed with the sauce that I made. The results turned out great! We had dinner with a nice white wine as suggested by the recipe.
And guess what? She loved it. I think that this is nothing more difficult than doing an experiment in a chemical lad. And at the end of the process, you can even eat your results in this case. So why not do something more like this?
