Chapter 8 introduces the story of the little prince and the rose. At the beginning the little prince was attracted by the beauty of the rose(that’s what men do), so he tended the flower. But the rose was too vain, she wanted to use lies to get more attention from the little prince. Instead, her lies disturbed the little prince so much that he run away from her.
And the little prince gradually understood the heart of the rose, he also learned how to get along with the rose. Judged her by deeds not by words, that’s the way how to love a woman.
When a man encounters love for the fist time, he is always confused by woman’s inconsistent, which easily leads to the idea of escape. Maybe that’s why first love always hurts.
