英英:to deal with or experience (something dangerous or unpleasant) without being harmed or damaged too much
例子:The company has weathered the recession.

表示这个意思时,类似的withstand, brave, come through, endure, overcome, resist, ride out, stand, survive,它更强调在危机或危险下存活下来。

The company has weathered the recession.

The government has weathered its worst political crisis.

Some economists think households are preparing to weather a downturn; others see an ageing population preparing for retirement.

Miners are still devouring electricity, but would struggle to weather further price declines.
Miners have mostly weathered the carsh so far.

The company has weathered the economy crisis and booms finally.

She weathered the terrible traffic jam.
