"Everyone on earth, they'd tell us, was carrying around an unseen history, and that alone deserved some tolerance."
Michelle Obama, the wife of Barack Obama, who has been the first lady of America for 8 years. She is known as a wife of the first black US president, a strong women with 1.8 meters tall.
It spontaneously connects her book <Becoming> with politic. Surprisingly, it's nonbusiness of politic. It tells a grow-up story that you could recall your experience as a child, as a teenager. It reveals a world that you never imagine what's the life for a black family in America from 1960s to 1980s. It hits your inside as a sensitive person with subtle details in a daily life. She asks the questions that you ask yourself also. She counters confusions as you do. She suffers the loss as everyone does.
"You give up or you work for change."
"Do we settle for the world as it is, or do we work for the world as it should be?"
"One, I feel very confused about where I want my life to go. What kind of person do I want to be? How do I want to contribute to the world? Two, I am getting very serious in my relationship with Barack and I feel that I need to get a better handle on myself."
"Nothing was impossible, but nothing looked simple, either."
It's a book which I can't stop reading when I read the part I 'Becoming me'. I carve to discover the rest plots and stories in part II 'Becoming us'. What she will tell us about her life as an adult, as a wife, as a mother, as the first lady?
