Didn't pass the English test

I was such a bad student in English learning

I've never thought about writing an article in English before, that's because I don't have much confidence when I try to write something down in English.

I wasn't a good student in my university English classroom many years ago, I always daydreamed when my English teacher was speaking, and I always cheated whenever there was an English test.

On an important English test, I didn't have any idea of the questions I was asked on the paper, therefore I decided to cheat when our English teacher turned his face to the blackboard.

I slowly pulled my English book out of my desk, then tried to turn the page to find the answers that I was looking for.

"Oh yes!"I found the answers I wanted.

I held one hand on the test paper, whilst another hand wrote down the answers very quickly.

Suddenly, I heard a voice over my head when I was busy writing, it said:"…sorry, you don't have to write down，because you can't pass your English test today."

"What!"I looked up and saw my English teacher's amused face.

At that moment, the whole classroom was so quiet, I realized I became the center of attention, because everybody was watching me from different directions of the classroom.

"Well, "I sat up straight, put my pen down, then started to laugh."Who cares"I thought"I don't think I will have the chance to use this language anyway."

Life is a miracle. Somehow, I left my homeland, then came down to this small English speaking country.

After realized I have to use this language to live and survive here, I started to learn it again and worked very hard on it. Finally, I crossed the language barrier.

Last year, when I went back to my home country to visit my family, I met my English teacher accidentally on the street.

He was surprised when he saw me talking to my NZ husband in English, and struggled to understand how on the earth the cheating student in his English classroom can speak English fluently.

"I am glad to see your English skill improved." he said to me.

"I  apologize what I have done in your classroom many years ago. "I said embarrassed." and now, I finally made use of the skill you've taught me.
