Listen to the tape then answer this question.

What is Carol not going to buy?

Tom:What are you doing, Carol?
汤 姆：卡罗尔，你在干什么？

Carol:I’m making a shopping-list, Tom.
卡罗尔：我在写购物单，汤姆。

Tom:What do we need?
汤 姆：我们都需要什么？

Carol: We need a lot of things this week.
卡罗尔：这星期我们需要很多东西。

Carol:I must go to the grocer’s. We haven’t got much tea or coffee, and we haven’t got any sugar or jam.
卡罗尔：我得去一下食品店。我们的茶叶和咖啡不多了，糖和果酱也没有了。

Tom:What about vegetables?
汤 姆：蔬菜呢？

Carol:I must go to the greengrocer’s. We haven’t got many tomatoes, but we’ve got a lot of potatoes.
卡罗尔：我还得到蔬菜水果店去一下。我们番茄不多了，但土豆还有不少。

Carol: I must go to the butcher’s, too. We need some meat. We haven’t got any meat at all.
卡罗尔：我还要到肉店去一下。我们需要些肉。我们一点肉也没有了。

Tom:Have we got any beer and wine?

Carol:No, we haven’t. And I’m not going to get any!

Tom:I hope that you’ve got some money.

Tom:Well, I haven’t got much either!

a lot of /lots of + 可数名词的复数形式和不可数名词

许多(lots of多用于口语)

• You have lots of/a lot of time to finish the work.

• I have lost a lot of weight
  我体重减了不少。

• There are lots of pear trees near the house.
  屋子近旁种着许多梨树。

We haven’t got any meat at all

我们一点肉也没有了。

not ... at all

一点...也不(at all 增强前面的not)

• I don't agree with you at all.
  我压根儿就不赞成你的主张。

• It is no benefit to me at all.
  这对我毫无益处。

• He is not stupid at all.
  他一点也不傻。

I haven’t got much (money).

我的钱不多了。

much + 不可数名词

许多

• We haven’t got much tea or coffee.
  我们没有多少茶和咖啡.

• There is much water in the lake.
  湖里有大量的数

• We don't get much snow in this country.
  在我们这个国家里不常下雪。

milk牛奶、salt食盐、rain雨、pork猪肉、

many+可数名词的复数形式

• There are too many mistakes in this essay.
  这篇文章错误太多。

• We've both had a good many beers

  他到过的地方多了。

I haven’t got much either!

我也不多了。

either

也，用于表示否定的也

• If you're not going, I'm not going either.
  你不去，我也不去。

• Billy: Your boss can't wait either.
  比利：你的老板也等不及了。

• I am not good at math, either.
  我对数学也不在行。

too

也，用于表示肯定的也

• 'Nice to talk to you.' — 'Nice to talk to you too.'
  “和你谈话很高兴。”——“我也一样。”
• I like the film, and she likes it, too.
  我喜欢这部电影，她也喜欢。

• A:I've got a great feeling about it.
  我感觉这次一定没问题。
  B:Me too.
  我也是。
