CH8 What about Natural Talent? Part 2
第八章前一部分，作者带我们探究了“天才”成功的秘密，厘清了我们对“天才”的普遍性认知错误。所谓的天才其实都离开不个人的努力，通过不断地刻意练习，花费长时间的训练，终于在某个领域成为大师，而且他们通常比常人更加努力。
但是在我们身边一直有一种人存在，他们平时看起不努力，不学习，每次成绩出来都拔尖。学习对他们来讲是毫不费力。你能说天赋或者智商没用吗？或者说，智力水平在一个人学习某项技能时究竟起什么作用？
作者给了我们比较清晰的回答：

智商起关键作用，智商高可以快速理解并掌握基本技能
2. 学习某项技能的深入期：
有效的 mental representation心理表征的起关键作用，智力水平的作用越来越弱
3. 从整个漫长的成长之路来看：

“In the long run it is the ones who practice more who prevail, not the ones who had some initial advantage in intelligence or some other talent.”
一句话，智力水平高在初学某项技的时大有帮助，它会让人快速掌握基本技能，但是随着时间的推进，这种智力优势会变得越来越弱，最终，练习的时间和质量才是决定你技能好坏的关键因素。练习才是决定在选择的道路上能走多久，走多远的决定性因素。
另外，还有一个误区，我们都认为学习一项技能，至少应该有基本的天份，比如你想学画画，是不是应该有一点画画的天份才行？作者给了清楚的答案：
除了某些体育运动中对身高体型有基本条件，没有证据表明“minimum requiremnets”存在。
感悟：
不随便贴标签，改变自己的思维意识：一是不给别人贴标签，把别人的成功归于“有天赋”；同时也不能自己贴上“天赋不够”的标签。即不给别人的成功找理由，不给自己的失败找借口。
从心理学角度讲，我们总是会为自己的行为找理由，并且认为这些理由是合乎逻辑的。比如说，你学了一个月绘画，结果发现自己没什么进展，然后告诉自己没天赋，你很自然得为自己找了个看似极为合乎逻辑的理由，内心不用因为放弃而沮丧，反而会释怀。
我们真正应该思考的不是自己有没有天分，而应该去分析别人成功的方法是什么，为什么这种方法会成功。
