A powerful cheetah is chasing its prey in the picture. At first glimpse, we cannot tell the name of this mammal. We may say it is a leopard, a panther, since we have never had any detailed information of this kind of animal before we are told the exact name.

From the point of its appearance, we can see that cheetah has dark speckles on its light furry coat.(cheetah is sandybrown with dark speckles on its light furry coat.) On its little head, two black streaks link its eyes and the corners of its mouth, which makes it distinct from leopard. It is said that these two streaks could concentrate light and widen its vision, making it more sophisticated in hunting. It has a relatively small stature than leopard and has four strong limbs. On the rear part of its long tail are several ring-shaped decorations. Its long tail has the function to keep it balanced while it is hunting or racing as well.
