(一) 描述猎豹
A cheetah is a kind of feline on grassland, featured with stout legs and a limber spine. But, cheetahs have some drawbacks in strength: They must charge at the best moment, because they usually fail to chase in a long distance—only a sprint in a few seconds fatigues them.
The spots on a cheetah differ from that of a leopard: A leopard has plum-petals like freckles while the figures on a cheetah are simple dark spots in irregular circles. Spots on tail are much larger and darker than that on body, especially those on face. The signal tear-stains on both sides, flowing from the corner of the eyes to the jaw, are the most appealing mark on a cheetah’s face.
In terms of physique, a cheetah is smaller than a leopard, a lion or other mammals alike. It is safe to conclude that a cheetah’s flexible movement attributes largely to its light body weight.
(二) 描述猎豹狩猎过程
When the cheetah is lurking inside the grass, it stares at the fawn attentively, moving the eyes along with every stride of the fawn and easing the breath. All of a sudden, it dashes out. Breathing deeply yet hastily, the cheetah opens its nostrils to the largest extent, which helps the calories burn and provide sufficient power. It jumps up high, stretching its forepaws with deadly sharp nails. The rear feet push off the ground and the spine sinks, making it raise and extend the front body at a full length. Running at a high speed, the cheetah compresses the muscles of tail, pointing it upward like an aggressive sword. Actually, the erecting tail helps the cheetah keep balance during running.
Finally, one of the rough paws scratches the skin of the fawn. Before any blood oozes from the cut, the fawn has been stumbled and pressed firmly on the ground.
