说起学英语呢我们往往有一种倾向，就是拿起单词书就背，好像背完了3000个单词词汇量又蹭蹭往上涨，这个呢，有好处，就是我们在初级的阅读时会少些障碍，但是问题就更明显了，啥呢？
一、我们没有用英语思维学英文。
学习一门语言学的不只是会跟人讲几句话，很重要的是通过语言塑造一种新的思维方式，就像给自己的房子多开了几扇窗，这样我们思路会更加开阔。反之，如果还是用背中文意思的方式来记单词，可能往中级、高级进阶就比较难了。往大了说，思维方式影响沟通方式，你俩还是聊不到一块儿去。
二、记了一堆大词，还是不会用。
我们经常会看到雅思考试里面，作文、口语是中国学生的弱项，阅读、听力是强项，为啥？词背好了确实能帮助看明白文章，但是不会用啊（反正我现在就是这样），所以把词往深了学非常必要。
下面我就用雅思考试书的一段阅读段落来举例：

怎么样，理解起来困难吗？加粗的字体都能理解吗？有没有一种平时都学过但是组合到一起有点懵的感觉？比如：apply，高中英语：apply to适用于，放在句子里理解为适用于怀疑论？这里我小笔记整理了下。
apply: to make use of something or use it for a practical purpose
使用，运用，应用
1. He wants a job in which he can apply his foreign languages.
他想找一份可以用到他的多门外语知识的工作。
2. The court heard how the driver had failed to apply his brakes in time.
法庭听司机陈述了他如何没能及时刹车的原委。
3. If you apply pressure to a cut it's meant to stop the bleeding.
如果你按压住伤口，就会止住流血。
matter:to be important, or to affect what happens
matter 用作动词作“关系重大”或“有出入”解，主要用在否定句和疑问句里。例如：
It does not matter（或 matters not）whether you will go or not.
The change mattered little to him.
The failure of test mattered nothing.
Does that really matter?
但用在他处也有。例如：
The essays deal with persons and things that really matter.

out of the question不可能
Another trip abroad this year is out of the question.
out of question 毫无疑问, 类似no doubt / without question
It' s out of question the economy worldwide will decline due to the epidemic disease.
