    一、重点单词

    1. a tiny ray of hope

    ray: a very small amount,a tiny ray of hope就是 “一线希望”,快记下来

    1. go off

    LEAVE 离开: to leave a place, especially in order to do something 离开,走:

    John decided to go off on his own.
    约翰决定自己一个人走。

    • go off to(今日课文词义): to leave one place to another

    He went off to work as usual.
    他和往常一样去上班。

    • go off to do sth

    Geoff went off to play golf.
    杰夫去打高尔夫球了。

    1. comprehensive: a type of school in Britain

    comprehensive本意大家都很熟悉,综合的,全面的

    在这里是(英国的公立性)综合中学 In Britain, a comprehensive is a state school in which children of all abilities are taught together.

    1. stuff: 同义词shove

    PUSH 推, [always + adv / prep] to push or put something into a small space, especially in a quick careless way 填,塞;

    stuff sth into/in/up sth

    She stuffed two more sweaters into her bag.
    她又往她的袋子里塞了两件毛线衫。

    课文例句:

    They stuff people’s heads down the toilet first day at Stonewall.
    Stonewall中学开学的第一天,他们就会把学生的头按到马桶里。

    1. trip: 同义词 stumble

    fall 倒下 also trip up, [I] to hit something with your foot by accident so that you fall or almost fall 绊倒;

    He tripped and fell.
    他绊了一下,摔倒了。

    • trip over

    Clary tripped over a cable and broke his foot.
    克拉里被一根电缆绊倒,摔坏了脚。

    • trip on

    He tripped on the bottom step.

    1. parade: to walk in a line to be seen

    一共两个意思,一个是形容(嗓音)粗哑的、低沉的,另一个是形容粗暴的、脾气坏的

    2. twang: to make a quick sound (使)发出拨弦声

    1. dodge: to avoid by moving to the side 躲开,闪开(可以划入达力欺负人系列记忆)

    2. bang sth. on/against sth: to hit with a loud noise 猛摔

    3. flop: sound made when one falls 重坠声,扑通声

    They heard the click of the letter-box and flop of letters on the doormat.

    1. poke

    WITH A FINGER / STICK ETC 用手指/棒等, [I,T] to quickly push your finger or some other pointed object into something or someone 戳,捅,刺:

    poke sb / sth with sth

    Andy poked the fish with his finger to see if it was still alive.
    安迪用手指戳了戳那条鱼,看它是否还活着。

    课文例句:

    1. rude

    sudden, unpleasant and unexpected

    1. crutch: a support stick for walking 拐杖 (参加流利说的小伙伴在Lv4 应该见过这个词吧~)

    2. 有关达力的新衣

    • maroon: a dark red color

    • tailcoat: a formal jacket worn by men

    • knickerbockers: clothes covering the legs

    • boater: a hat with a flat top

    1. 有关哈利的新衣
    • a large metal tub in the sink 污水池里的一只大铁盆(tub: a wide container)

    • rag: an old useless piece of cloth 破布

    • bits of old elephant skin 一块旧的象皮(bit: A bit of something is a small piece of it 一点,一块,一片,一段)

    • disgust: a state of not liking a thing 这种厌恶与反感总能让我想起德思礼一家

    • disgusting和revolting是同义词,都是令人厌恶的

    三、旧词重现

    3. 总结一下哈利波特中出现过的颜色:

    1. 翻译一下达力的这套装束,积累其中的小词。(参见“其他词汇”的第2条)

    gruff参见“重点词汇”第6条,“crack”又是流利说的词,讲看牙话题的那课,可能还是lv4吧,太久远了记不清。

    1. “其他词汇”第四条提到的关于佩妮姨妈的lips~大家描述一下自己的理解,喜欢画画的小伙伴试着画出来。

    2. 复习一下上面要求大家回顾的各种盯着看或者眼神,以及各种“抖”。
