Translator's Note:
The name of the novel was originally titled “金玉王朝”,“金玉” literally means “gold and jade” which symbolizes “precious treasure”,however in this novel,“gold and jade” indicates that “all that glitters is not gold” as the classical Chinese saying goes “金玉其外,败絮其中”which represents it was not the age of peace.
protagonist:
白雪岚:(In Chinese order)Bai Xue Lan,“白”means pure white which reflects the protagonist's (top/seme)unwavering faith throughout his lifetime even in troubled times.“雪”literally means “snow”,but here i prefer to use “blizzard” to convey his nature of extremely magisterial, peremptory and his distance from gentleness.“岚”literally means “mist in the forest” which represents that it is difficult to ascertain his mind.
宣怀风:(in Chinese order)Xuan Huai Feng.“宣”means “to speak out”.“怀”means “to cherish the memory of somebody or something”,for more details, please refer to Volume 1 Chapter 23.“风”literally means “wind”,but here i prefer to use “breeze” to emphasize the protagonist's(bottom/uke) nature of gentle and delicacy.
Please do let me know if there are any mistakes or errors,as English is not my first language, and this is not edited.Nevertheless, I will do my best to improve it even further.
