挽歌（其三）/ Elegy (the 3rd piece)
荒草何茫茫，白杨亦萧萧。
Weeds having no boundry,
Poplars shaking in the wind.
严霜九月中，送我出远郊。
With the frost of September,
To a wasteland at outskirt sent me.
四面无人居，高坟正嶕峣。
No dead lived around me,
My tomb was high and towering.
马为仰天鸣，风为自萧条。
Horses neighed to the sky,
Gale blew with depression.
幽室一已闭，千年不复朝。
After the grave was closed,
Darkness would last for thousands years.
千年不复朝，贤达无奈何。
To the thousands years darkness,
Even a wiseman would feel helpless.
向来相送人，各自还其家。
I saw the people who sent me,
They had gone back to their home.
亲戚或余悲，他人亦已歌。
My relatives might have sorrow left,
Other poeple begun singing.
死去何所道，托体同山阿。
Death is not something so serious,
Just give your body to the hills.
