My mentor

Today's topic is mentor, so the first question ofcourse is , do you know who is my mentor? Let me give some tips, everyone calls him old driver with 11 years toastmaster experience,  handsome boss, passed the highest pathway of Level 5 and former president.

Yes,let me call out his name loundly, that is Vincent Chen. Let’s give him a big applause.

So here is the next question, do you still remember how did you chose your mentor when you first entering SoYoung club?

normally we will consider the following into consideration for mentor selection:

First of all, experienced and rich knowledge about toastmaster is the top necessary.

Secondly, they will have their own unique personal charming which attracts us.

The last thing is to be able to provide reliable one-on-one assistance on speaking skill.

Of course, all the mentors in our SoYoung club can meet those requirments, but why do I choose Vincent as my mentor? Besides above 3 factors, the most attracted me is his energy and his learning skills and knowledge.

For Energy, I am soadmire his passion because I almost met him in every regular meeting from Soyoung to AATCP even to XinYueli, even I didn’t joined but I can always distinguish him by picture.

For Learning，he learned from books or his experience then presented so many kinds of workshop, such as  “how to do ice-break” and “how to get the story inspiration” which  I felt that is really help me at that time.

For konwledge, his free style on the stage relied on his rich knowledge background.

so he became one of my idols on the way to pathway. when Simone  assigned him as my mentor, you can image that how excited in my heart at that moment as my idols agreed be my mentor.

After having the honor to be his student, I started to prepare my ice-breaker,  this is the first time I showed off myself on Soyoung stage，with his work shop 's help, I made a careful study on his workshop of how to express myself through the story. after that，he gave precise suggestions and even grammar correction in details.

At the same time, he asked me to provide a plan with pathway progress, I still remember that the plan target I set was to finish LEVEL3 this year, and I even gave a details weekly plan.

But actually there ‘s always something stuck me in this way or that way in past months, I started to far behind my original schedule unintentionally .

when I get lost on my way, during this period, my mentor Vincent keep preparing speech and work shop， I can always found him here and there. such excellent mentor still always have many inputs and outputs through learning,  it reminds me that I can't stand still. I also need keep moving. That is my original intention of joining toastmaster. so I have to push myself and hurry up my speed to L3 this year which is more close with target.

It is my lucky to have such excellent mentor, but of course, the help I got from Soyoung club is not only from him, but also:

Victor, who give suggestion on my speech and how to interact with audience, is also my mentor.

Simone, who provided story types and even shared his own story models, is my mentor too;

Micelle and Wendy and Willy who helped on both video and poster’s making, are my mentors too.

Oscar and Jason who guide me the way how to deal with aged .

and all of you stand on the stage with shinning moment who touched me are my mentors.
