Currently, the issue of what factors people’s shopping preference more depends on has specked off an intense debate. However, some people argue that people’s shopping habits depend more on the age group than other factors. From my point of view, people’s shopping habits are influenced more by personal wealth.
Admittedly, theoretically speaking, peoples shopping habits surely depend on age groups, because people in different ages have various needs. One explanation is that, a pregnant woman may not buy some medicine suitable for the elderly, she just buy her baby’s objects first. In addition, the youngsters usually have an open mind to the new technologies and electrical appliance. If some new products appears, the young people would like to buy them. By contrast, older people may have conservative attitude about these products which seems like a common feature of the olds.
However, in our daily life, wealth may be the first dominant factor for people. When facing some advanced and well quantity products, most people want to own them, but many of them will not purchase them. This is because they can not afford the products. This, the amount of wealth divides people into different ranks of consumption, which makes people buy different prices of products. Therefore, the age groups cannot influence people’s choice first.
In conclusion, considering the influence of economic conditions, age is not the most significant factor for consumers.
