We enjoy reading about them, especially when we find that, like the praying mantis, they lead perfectly horrible lives. We enjoy staring at them, entranced as they go about their business, unaware (we hope) of our presence. Who has not stood in awe at the sight of a spider pouncing on a fly, or a column of ants triumphantly bearing home an enormous dead beetle?
Last summer I spent days in the garden watching thousands of ants crawling up the trunk of my prize peach tree. The tree has grown against a warm wall on a sheltered side of the house. I am especially proud of it, not only because it has survived several severe winters, but because it occasionally produces luscious peaches. During the summer, I noticed tat the leaves of the tree were beginning to wither. Clusters of tin insects called aphids were to be found on the underside of the leaves.

今天课文很短,主要注意生词发音的熟悉,还有出现熟词生义。
今天大课,S说到,从基础开始学时,重新查每一个单词的英文释义,抄写并还原语境。感觉自己做到了不明白意思或发音的尽量查一遍,抄下来,但是真正记住多少呢。。。其实有的甚至都没什么印象。更别说还原语境了。今天还说到渗透式学习,一遍不懂就要多遍。看来我还差很多遍呢。
今天有时各种事情,搞到很晚才开始读,太累了,而且效果不好,一定要优先做。
