When you visit London,one of the first things you will see is Big Ben, the famous clock which can be heard all overthe world on the B.B.C. If the Houses of Parliament had hot been burneddown in 1834, the greatclock would never have been erected. Big Ben takes its name from Sir BenjaminHall who was responsible for the making of the clock when the new Houses ofParliament were being built. It is not only of immense size, but is extremely accurate as well.Officials from GreenwichObservatory have the clock checked twice a day. On theB.B.C. you can hear the clock when it is actually striking becausemicrophones are connected to the clocktower. Big Ben has rarelygone wrong. Once, however, it failed to give the correct time. A painterwho had been working on the tower hung a pot of paint on one of the hands andslowed it down !

练习感悟：因为知道下午晚上没时间读，就在早上把朗读读了，把任务往前赶完的感觉太棒了，既能好好读书，又能好好玩。朗读的时候，有时间去抠读音，一遍一遍又一遍读到脑有点缺氧，读完的酣畅淋漓，大概就是心流的感觉。
