When Confucius first attended the service at the State Cathedral (Ancestral Temple of the reigning prince), lie enquired as to state of the service. Somebody thereupon remarked, “Who tells me that the son of the plebeian（平民的；粗俗的；平民；粗俗的人） of Ts’ow is a man who knows the correct form?”
