️ 1. salivate 表示“流口水🤤”->“垂涎某物”

表示很渴望xxx就可以说 「salivate over/at sth」

️ 2. on good/friendly terms 关系好

例：We parted on good terms. 我们友好地分了手

️拓展：「come to terms with 」表示“勉强接受;向…让步;对…妥协”

例：She had come to terms with the fact that her husband would always be crippled. 她只好接受了丈夫将终生残疾这个现实

️ 3. lay sth out on the table 开诚布公地做某事

️很形象吧，把所有东西都放到桌子上没有隐藏=类似我们说的“打开天窗说亮话”，这里的语境是Riley给所有她心动过的男生发了一个小测试，她觉得像这样将曾经那些隐藏的情感开诚布公地说很棒

例：I'm just going to lay my feelings on the table at dinner—hopefully she feels the same way I do!

4️. hit the fan 产生严重恶果，触成大乱，引起轩然大波

️这是美国的一个俚语，常用的表达为“The shit hit the fan”，shit「狗屎」比喻trouble「麻烦」，所以这句话就是「惹祸上身」之意

️ 5. niche是个非常地道的小词

a. (特定/有目标群体的)市场;商机

例：I think we have found a niche in the toy market. 我想我们已经在玩具市场找到了一个商机

b. 称心的工作/活动 我们说找到自己的定位或者喜欢的工作就可以用这个词

例：Simon Lane quickly found his niche as a busy freelance model maker.

️ 6. bog sb down 深陷泥沼，止步不前

️「bog」就是泥潭、沼泽的意思

例：I got bogged down by the difficult homework. 课外作业把我给难住了

️ 7. perk 常表示（工资之外的）补贴、津贴、额外待遇

例： Perks offered by the firm include free health insurance. 公司的额外待遇包括免费的医疗保险
