TOPIC

Write a criticism of a celebrity. It can be a particular  celebrity or the whole idea of celebrity in general. Use some of the language  you have learned for criticizing in this lesson.

TEACHER'S NOTE

Punctuation: Kindly note that the punctuation the comma  mark (,) is used in writing to show a short pause or to separate things in a  list. e.g.,".......drifting with people’s dreams. In someway, they carry  the dreams.....". Spacing: Kindly note that after each word and  punctuation a single space should be provided, not more than that  e.g.,"......they carry the dreams’ weight. Pressure is like slow poison  to celebs...".

Celebrities, the most talked about topics nowadays,  characterize our modern era in history of mankind. Even gossiping columnists  and critics who comment on celebs become famous themselves. Societies and its  trends could not get wrong. There must be some reasons behind these  phenomena. Reviewing from my own life experiences, I would say that people  make celebrates.

Modern society, with its material abundance, provides  various tempting opportunities to all individuals, making our life full of  dreams, competition and unexpectedness. People are often frustrated, with  their dreams been battered. However, nobody would accept that they are  improperly dreaming for a better life, even though one has temporarily failed  to realize it on one’s own side. “Somebody else can! My dream has been  proved!” In that way, the incarnations of people’s dreams become celebrities.

Anyone who understands people, society and the desires of other people's  heart, one is ready to become a celebrity. Someone may carefully plan to be a  celeb. Someone may be just because of lucky chances. Anyway, as soon as they  become celebs, they feel pressure, because they are floating and drifting  with people’s dreams. In someway, they carry the dreams’ weight.

Pressure is  like slow poison to celebs’ mental and physical health. Statistics show the  suicide rates among celebrities are four-times higher than that among normal  people. We also often hear that someone suffers from bad health condition  while his or her career life is just blooming.

To speed your success, you  watch up the trends, understand what people’s yearning for, and you need to  be prepared and patiently wait for some events which bring you fame and  possibly fortune. In modern days, with multiplied media coverage, to be  famous is not hard. But so what? As Andy Warhol, an American avant-garde  artist, predicted, everyone could become worldwide famous for 15 minutes.  Fifteen Minutes! If we are truly treasure our life, we should pursuit  something more meaningful to the society and ourselves.

Our deeds and virtues  should stand the rush of torrential time. In short, as I see it, we shouldn’t  take it for granted. Being celebrities or not, we are the same, with the same  life struggling and suffering.
