An unforgettable hike

      As we all know，we Senior Two students attended the Academic Test on March 27th and 28th. After that，according to our head teacher，we're supposed to regard ourselves as Senior Three students from now on.

      In order to encourage us to set higher goals during the next year，our school arranged for us to go hiking to Western China Science And Technology Innovation Harbour Campus of Xi'an Jiaotong University.

 

    Last Monday，it was windy and cloudy. Just fine weather! With the headmaster sending the signal，we set out at half past seven in the morning. Almost all the students in our grade took part in it.

      At first，everyone was in great interest. The flowers were smiling sweetly and the birds were flying happily. We walked down the country road，talking，singing and laughing. Some of us even ran for a short distance from time to time to keep up with other classes. After all，no one wanted to fall behind others.

     

      Many strange people from nearby villages came to watch and they constantly cheered us up. Our teachers who accompanied  us all the way，encouraged us to keep it up!

      At about half past eleven，we eventually reached our destination.

     

        On arriving there，I caught sight of the grand school gate. We took a group photo in front of the main building and then we visited the Milan Tower and the Science and Technology Museum. We learned a lot about the glorious history and the achievements of the great college. How proud and lucky the students are，who could study in so beautiful campus! I began to look forward to my college life!   

      Next，we went to the playground. There we played some interesting games and then had a recitation about On Our Young China together. I thought it our duty to make our motherland stronger and stronger.

      At half past two p.m.，after a simple lunch，we made our way back to school. The journey was so long and it seemed to be endless. Most of us were out of breath. Our legs badly hurt and many had blisters in their feet. Some of us were too tired to walk any further and they gave it up，but the majority chose to keep going. It was the encouragements from my dear teachers and classmates that made me brave enough to hold on to the last minute. 37 kilometres made me exhausted，but I really beat it!

      At that moment，too many ideas crowded into my mind. Just that moment，we are playing the strings of life. At that moment，we were not surpassing others，but ourselves. Persistence brought me closer to success and closer to my dream. I realized that only by constantly surpassing myself can I achieve my dream!

      I told myself It's high time that I should try my best and make every effort to study hard ，for my brighter future! Go fighting，everybody!
