    afraid to something 用来谈论计划中要做,但又有危险或后果不好的事:

    A lot of people are afraid to go out at night.

    He was afraid to tell his parents about the broken window.

    afraid of -ing 用来谈论我们并非计划要做,但可能会发生的不利于我们的事:

    The path was icy, so we walked very carefully. We were afraid of falling.

    I don't like dogs. I'm always afraid of being bitten.

    So, you are afraid to do something because you are afraid of something happening as a result:

    I was afraid to go near the dog because I was afraid of being bitten.

    interested in doing 与 interested to do  比较:

    I'm trying to sell my car but nobody is interested in buying it.

    I was interested to hear that Diane has got a new job.

    I was surprised to hear that Diane has got a new job.

    sorry to ... 是为正在做或将要做的事表示歉意:

    I'm sorry to bother you, but I need to talk to you.

    还表示对某人的同情  I was sorry to hear that Fiona lost her job.

    当我们为已经做的某事而道歉时,用 sorry for doing

    (I'm) sorry for shouting at you yesterday.

    (I'm) sorry I shouted at you yesterday.
