Retrieval is how you learn

You may encounter such a situation, when you are watching a tutorial, you think everything makes perfect sense, but when you have to do something yourself, you think it's like you have learned nothing at all. It's like you can not do it.

So why that?

One of the biggest problems is that when we are watching things and we are sort of following along with it, it is very easy to think,"that's fine,I get that". But when we have to put it into practice,to solve a challenge, then all of a sudden we find it's so hard.

So one of the ways of combating this is to constantly do the pulling out, the retrieving of information, the retriving of your skill. Try to practive as much as you can.

Once you know what needs to be done, see if you can do it yourself.

That is fundamentally different from actually just listening , because all sit and listen to lectures all day long, but if we're not focused, if we're not using the skills we're learning, then it's as if we haven't learned at all.

So have a go and keep going.
