What puzzle we students called on to perform many types of subjects is either to intensive learning or to extensive learning? In my esteem, those compound talents , keeping abreast with the advancing society are needed in the society. Therefore, the point of specializing in one particular field seems reasonable and irreproachable, especially for making one’s living. But I take delight in survival of the fittest, that is to say: those who possess broad knowledge outweighs that of having specialization.
Diversified educational background is conducive for job hunting. In today’s job market, the fact is that employers are more inclined to those employees with a variety of skills. For instance, a science bachelor with fluent English skills are superior to a English major undergraduate in hunting the same position, unless the latter have a powerful ability to exploit unknown fields. Otherwise, few entrepreneurs are wiling to drill time and energy to cultivate a green hand. Besides, in teaching areas, those compound talents are conversant with conveying knowledge in different aspects, making it easier to come across.
