About author:
Dubravka Kolanvic studied painting at the savannah college of art and Design, USA and at the academy of fine arts in Zagreb, Croatia. She won the golden award for her first picture book at the “written and illustrated by”competition in the USA. Since then she has illustrated more than 30 picture books for publishers in Europe, Australia, Japan and America. She lives in zadar, Croatia with her husband and son.
About the story:
Everyone at honey hill is having a busy day! Join them as they listen to stories, paint pictures, play in the garden, have a snack and play dress up and find the hidden characters on each spread. Packed with fun nursery school details that young children will love, with peep-through holes and flaps to lift, this is a great way to get to know Lucy, Oscar, Olivia, jack and rafi as they go through their busy day!
Today I took this book out of the book shelf. Simon was fascinate by this house shaped book immediately. he didn’t care what was the book about, he just lifted the flaps on each page. Then I waited patiently until he lifted the last flap. Then I held him, asked him some questions, make him carefully focus on the pictures.
“ how many children?”
“One, two, three, four, five. Five!”
“Good job! Can you find Olivia?”
He lifted all the flaps on this page until he found her. That was great! He was listening to me. Then I started to read the story for him, asking him some questions now and then. He was quite happy to talk with me.
