1.

A LITTLE LESSON

Under the flashing disco lights,

You dance your life away.

Under the influence of that bitter sputa

You boasted to the calm world,

Showing off how much you know.

You deceived the thirsty ears

In the middle of the stupefying malt bottle jungle.

You became hero of the forsaken,

While inside the lines of your face,

Ignorance was happily colonising.

In a dreadful sanctuary.

Under a stupefying spell of women

You found yourself lost

Within your own world of fantasy,

Leaving reality by the wayside.

Dance not to be great,

But to fulfill the universal promise of harmony.

Drink not to be clever,

Because the shipwreck is for you alone to man.

Womanise not to be famous,

Because the risk the body takes means your life.

一）小小教训

在闪烁的迪斯科灯光下起舞

你挥霍着生命时光

苦涩的唾沫横飞

对平静的世界夸口

炫耀你懂得很多

欺骗了热望的耳朵

头晕目眩，觥筹交错

你成了被遗忘者的英雄

在你脸上的皱纹里

刻着自我陶醉的无知

在一个可怕的庇护所

被一群女人迷惑

你迷失了自我

在梦幻世界里

把现实全抛却

跳舞不为变伟大

而是为了实现和谐的普遍承诺

喝酒不为变聪明

因为沉沦的是你自己

玩女人不为出名

其风险意味着丧命

CAUTION

Caution!

The road we are trodding is slippery…

Your elements of movements.

Trod not where your fate lies,

For the return of life hesitant.

Caution!

Sweet words are not always true,

As bright-looking faces do not always imply contentment.

Men live on borrowed faces

To maintain a position under the tree of survival.

Fling not your bodies in the silent air,

Because in it,

Exist a force that stuns the ignorant,

When you land hard on the solid ground.

Caution!

Caution!

Defeat is not destruction.

Defeat is a teacher to both victor and defeated.

It is often deceptive to the victor.

It can delude the happy mind,

Which will tend to rest,

While wound-licking dogs are coming in

With the boomerang-like spear retaliation.

二）小心

脚下的路很滑

运动的基本要素马虎不得

不要践踏你的命运

生命的回归迟缓

甜言蜜语不总是真实的

愉快的表情不总是意味着满足

人的生存需要伪装

在生存树下保留一席之地

别把身体抛向寂静的天空

因为在其中

当你在实地上硬着陆时

有一股力量使无知者震撼

小心

小心

战胜不是毁灭

而是胜利者和失败者之师

它常常欺骗胜利者

使其冲昏头脑

觉得可以松一口气了

当舔伤口的狗进来时

用回旋镖般的长矛进行报复。

GOSSIP

Mouth next to ear,

Poor ear so attentive.

“I’m telling you, it’s like that.”

“Is it true?”

False round-table gossips are going on.

Somebody’s character is being dissected.

Echoes of Mgosi refract strongly built walls,

In an amazing way,

Leaving the Mgosi clan sinking in their books,

Although the echoes are said to be kept under armpits.

“Don’t tell other boys, it’s between the two of us.”

Mgosi an all-rounder,

In streets,street-corners, churches, schools and under respected roofs of township and big city homes.

Everywhere, Mgosi.

Resurfacing the confidential with amazing grace.

Confirmed or unconfirmed the circulation is so swift.

三）说三道四

嘴紧挨着耳朵，

听不清又如此专注。

“我告诉你，事情就是这样。”

“这是真的吗？”

圆桌八卦在虚伪中上演。

有人的性格被剖析。

对米戈西的议论在斗室内回响，

以一种惊人的方式，

让其家族在他们的书中沉沦，

虽说是共鸣藏在腋窝下。

“别告诉其他男生，这事你知我知。”

米戈西是多面手，

在街坊邻里、教堂、学校以及乡镇和大城市尊贵的屋顶下。

米戈西，家喻户晓。
