1 The People’s Liberation Army
解放军
中国人民解放军（简称：人民解放军、解放军，英文：People's Liberation Army of China，英文缩写：PLA）是中华人民共和国最主要的武装力量。
中国人民解放军的前身是1927年8月1日的南昌起义后留存的部队中国工农革命军，经过五次反围剿的土地革命战争、抗日战争、解放战争，在1949年合并八路军、新四军、东北抗日联军等部队陆续改称为中国人民解放军。
中国人民解放军的最高军事机关为中央军事委员会，现役部队由陆军、海军、空军、火箭军、战略支援部队组织而成。现中国人民解放军现役总人数约200万人，是世界上现役兵员最多的国家军队之一。中国的国防军费在2011年为9230亿人民币，占中国国内生产总值的2.0%，占世界各国国防预算总额的8.2%，居世界第二位。
