One of the many wonders in Chinese history is its architecture.Traditional Chinese gardens, for example, have usually big lakes teeming with gold fish and water lilies. What's more interesting to know about it is that there is always a pavilion on the side of the lake.The ancients usually added some bats, lotus flowers and other decorations on the pavilion. Some of these symbolize happiness and others symbolize happiness. In addition, there are a lot of willow trees in a traditional Chinese garden and it adds to the beauty of the place.
Another interesting fact about traditional architecture is the vernacular dwellings. Basically, there is a different kind of dwelling for every region in China. Let's take Shanxi province as an example. In this place, it shows us the northwestern cave dwellings where my ancestors used to live in.
Ancestors dug the soil in order to build the cave dwelling. They have lived in these dwelling since the late Qing dynasty（晚清). This house is warm in winter and cool in summer. It is very suitable for the northwest where the north wind whistles at night. Although the appearance of this kind of cave dwelling looks very rough, it is very comfortable to live in it.
In China, there is a special kind of architecture besides gardens and dwellings. This kind of architecture is a combination of Chinese and Western architecture. For example, in my hometown of Guangzhou. The famous Shishi Sacred Heart Cathedral is the product of the combination of Chinese style and Islamic style.There are many, many other different styles of architecture that let us to find.
China is a large country. Different provinces in China have their own different customs and different buildings. No matter where you treat the culture, you should keep a respectful heart. Every culture is worthy of respect.
